The challenge in content marketing is often content. Many companies simply don't have enough to say. Not Design Center. Their distinctive approach to mobile workforces has yielded some rich thinking. Isometric provides highly sophisticated, mathematically intensive research to marketers. Its founder, Rob Reul, is one of the most passionate people I’ve ever worked with. He loves research like I love advertising. The goal here was to quickly convey the user benefit (we got it to four words), to create a distinctive brand look (the green is the same green that often acts as a signal in nature), to explain his complex product offerings without oversimplifying them, and to accent the site with stories which conveyed Rob’s passion for the field. We also created new business cards. I wrote white papers and research summaries.

The most profound satisfaction in this job is to take an underappreciated client and to do your bit to help them shine. It’s even more satisfying when your client is a film festival in your beloved home town. We provided a new logo, a new tagline, and some simple UX for their site. Designer: Jim Williams.

Pre-diabetes is tough to talk about. You need to finesse the mix of shock value and hope. This presentation explored different possibilities within that spectrum. Design: Jim Williams (1, 2), Scott Gerber (3, 4, and 5)

With its precise targeting and direct relevance to my audience, LinkedIn was a great way to create awareness within the Twin Cities creative community. And you don’t need to be a data analytics ninja to appreciate the resulting spikes in my unique website visitors.

ATT's internal communications reach more people than many consumer campaigns. So a consumer approach was called for when I was brought in as a Contract Creative Director. 

AT&T employees were asking for cash cards. You use points to set up your dream kitchen. You use cash to pay the gas bill. We just had to remind people of that.

Home Depot's in-home sales division had 1400 sales consultants. And they were giving 1400 different presentations. This app identified the best practices of their best salespeople, created a standardized but flexible presentation flow, and added powerful imagery, tools, and messaging, The client said, "It made my people so efficient they were able to spend more time with their families."

The idea of extending the Canyon Ranch healthy living concept to condominiums was powerful. Unfortunately, the crash of 2008 was even more powerful and the ad never ran.  Creative Direction: Pete Zapf

This postcard for Kids' Hair garnered a 10% response, was taught in a copywriting class, and has been featured on the front page of the company's business plan for years. And I almost didn't present it.  Design: Pat Wright
